What kinds of issues does CARE address?

• CARE serves as a resource for issues related to healthy relationships, emotional, verbal and physical abuse, sexual violence, gender issues and personal safety.

 

Are counseling services confidential?

• Yes!  All services provided by CARE are confidential and free of charge to all currently enrolled UCI students.

 

Does it matter when the assault occurred?

• If the assault has occurred recently, it is important to seek assistance as soon as possible. However, survivors of sexual violence may experience the impact of the event in various ways over extended periods of time. CARE is available to assist with the needs of survivors at any point during their healing process.

 

I'm not sure that what happened to me was assault or rape. How can I find out?

• Come and talk with someone at CARE to discuss your concerns.

 

Can I come in to talk to someone even if I don't want to press charges or leave my relationship?

• Absolutely. CARE can provide you with information and resources so that you can make a decision that is right for you.

 

Who can request a workshop?

• Student groups, faculty, staff or other campus leaders can request workshops on a variety of topics based on their needs.
