It’s the music you dance to in clubs, it’s the songs you turn up when you put the windows down, it’s the tunes you hear at every party. 

Please join CARE, the UCI Gender Education Series and Hip Hop Congress at UCI for a film screening of Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes.  This documentary by filmmaker Byron Hurt offers a critical analysis of the hip-hop culture featuring prominent artists including Mos Def, Fat Joe, and Busta Rhymes. 

The film will be followed by a discussion moderated by Dr. Jared Sexton (African American Studies – Media and Film Studies).
