Group Counseling

CARE offers weekly support groups for survivors of sexual assault or intimate partner violence. Group counseling offers opportunities to connect with others who have had similar experiences, gain support, develop trust, increase self-awareness and learn new ways to cope with challenges.

Joining a Group

Interested students should call CARE at (949) 824-7273 to identify group dates and times.  If the date and the time of the group is a match with your schedule, you will set up an initial interview with the group counselor.

During this interview, we will discuss your interest in the group, level of commitment to the group, campus involvements, experiences that have led to your interest in the group, past therapy or group experiences, and what you are interested in offering to/receiving from the group.

If it is determined mutually that the group would be a good match for your needs and interests at the present time, the counselor will either inform you of your start date or will place you on the wait list for the next available opening.
